  2. @thelastgherkin And yet, the design looks different. I mean, that's nothing new for Who, but it still bothered me.

  3. @insaneclownscribus It's... eh, I dislike the amount of boilerplate it has compared to my favourite languages, but it's a solid enough language. And the JVM itself is excellent, especially since it's very viable these days to run a number of other (better?) languages atop it.

Monday, 29-Oct-12 17:13:12 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  4. @yodelerty Treat it as a new language. It may have a broadly C-like syntax, but it's no more a direct descendant of C than, say, Java (which is also loosely C-like, and also not a C, though it's at least not named as if it was one).

  5. @yodelerty VS2010, though... that suggests you'll be primarily using it as a .NET language, and while the framework is actually not badly designed for what it is, it's still a Windows-centric thing (yes, I know there's Mono; it sucks). :S

  6. @yodelerty C# isn't an awful language, honestly. Maybe not my first choice, but it's pleasant enough that I definitely wouldn't object too hard to being in a situation that required it.

  7. @insaneclownscribus In my more obstinate moments, I'm tempted to answer "Yes" to those, as in "I have a gender, but I don't see that it's important here."

  13. @redenchilada Don't even bother composing anything. Just switch the soundfont on someone elses midi and call it a remix! Instant classic!

  17. @moonprincess Hey, @anarchycarcino wants to know if you'd be willing to shove some shattered pieces of jewel up your shirt and tell us what it feels like.

  18. @thelastgherkin I've always seen it as homunculi, but I have no idea how correct that is beyond the tenuous realm of "if everyone uses it, it effectively becomes right by default".

  19. @bitshift Wait, I can't draw. Abort plan.

  25. @yodelerty The haps remain entirely elusive so far. I'll let you know if I find them.

  26. @yodelerty 'allo.

Friday, 26-Oct-12 13:56:49 UTC from web in context
  27. @ceruleanspark Well, it really depends on whether you agree with the majority opinion of how bad/good an individual picture is. I honestly think I'd have leaned toward taking that chance to save on space (if my hand hadn't already been forced by not having a torrent client that could handle the unabridged torrents), but I can definitely understand why someone would want to hold onto them, too.

Friday, 26-Oct-12 13:54:13 UTC from web in context
  28. @ceruleanspark Wasn't it only the (relative) cream of the crop that they transferred over?

Friday, 26-Oct-12 13:46:30 UTC from web in context
  29. @ceruleanspark It annoys me that I can think of so many reasons this will end badly, because I'm actually pretty damn fond of my patron troll, but she's the only one in the current scene with no plot-guaranteed immortality.

Friday, 26-Oct-12 13:11:40 UTC from web in context
  30. @ceruleanspark On top of that, this seems like a perfect chance for Hussie to give Rose some alcoholism-related trauma (survivor's guilt plus being drunk at the time) so she joins the Strilonde family tradition of being very uncomfortable with aspects of her dancestor.
