@tenmihara I'm the same. As a general rule, I don't like story arcs that forcibly change character personalities like that.

@ceruleanspark It's interesting to note that (as demonstrated by his forced conversion of Fluttershy) that Discord had the power to do that the whole time. He just decided to play with the others for his own amusement, and ragequit when it didn't work on her

@tenmihara I get that they were supposed to lose. Discord evidently knew how to screw each of them up just perfectly, it just bothers me how quickly the whole thing happened.

@ceruleanspark Everypony acknowledges the rather hectic pacing of the episode, but with the mane cast already in the thick of things, the second part will likely see things spread out a little better as Twilight has to remind them of the virtues of their friendship >3

@pawnheart Sorta dissapointed that all we saw of Canterlot was just the stuff that got shown in the prerelease screenshots. Though, one of those screencaps hasn't happened yet. (Everypony kneeling before Celestia)

@tenmihara I think the forced conversion of Fluttershy was mainly for the lulz... Worked though! Even if it did maybe take away from the conversion of the characters having some degree of choice to it. Did make me like Fluttershy a little more! A new kind of strength.

@pawnheart This is the way I saw it: Applejack deceived into self deception by a lie masquerading as truth. Pinkie: Made the subject of laughter instead of the source. Rarity: Bait and switched between something she's normally passionate about, and that which she truly needed. Fluttershy: Cruelly forced to change against her will Rainbow Dash: Forced to choose her loyalties between her friends and her old home (and possibly family)
