    Why don't use plastic BB guns? they're lighter, and less noticeable than nerf guns, and if you use googles, they're harmless.

      @nerthos If you're going for a moderately surefire safe environment nerf guns are better. Also, because nerf guns fire so slowly, you can add other thing such as melee weapons (within reason), cardboard shields, etc. to make it more interesting.

        @fallinwinter Yeah, I get your point. The disvantage of them is that they're expensive, there's not much difference in terms of fire rate with BB manual action guns. With double cardboard you can stop most of the BB shots.
