Why are there ads on youtube!?
Thursday, 17-Apr-14 16:49:54 UTC from web-
@scootaloo123 Because the content creators you enjoy watching need money to continue creating content that you enjoy.
-
@mastertdi Well I'm fine with that but there are 30 second unskippable ads.
-
@scootaloo123 @mastertdi thats the way it works. a little bit of the 'admoney' is given content creators. it can be disabled, but most won't
-
@heathenman I thought any and all ads 30 seconds of above should be skippable.
-
@heathenman Honestly I think most people do disable them. :1 I don't. I spend too much time farting around on the internet not to give something back.
-
@scootaloo123 So that people can eat.
-
@mrmattimation Grade:F- Next time please make more sense with your sentence next time.
-
@mastertdi some creators didnt own a site, just a channel - banners who gave money from views arent supported on youtube as i know
-
@mastertdi but i thought of creator managed deactivation
-
@scootaloo123 You need food to eat, money for food, and YouTube ads give creators money. It's not a whole lot of money, but in some cases it's just enough.
-
@mrmattimation People should get money for the amount of likes/views they get on their videos.
-
@scootaloo123 I swear someone here's mentioned a site that lets you microdonate to youtubers by liking their videos. I forget what it's called... Patreon?
-
@redenchilada That's kind of cool. I like the way that works.
-
@redenchilada Patreon. And you have to actually pay them.
-
@scootaloo123 Because that wouldn't be exploitable by bots or anything.
-
@ceruleanspark Yeah that's why I said "donate"
-
@ceruleanspark Well yeah that makes sense but every system has bugs.
-
@redenchilada Flattr is the same.
