If this "new 3DS" thing means the console I've had since launch is losing support after only three years then I quit handheld gaming forever

@redenchilada It does. The new one has a faster processor.
-
@cinnamonswirl It also has a second analog stick and extra shoulder buttons
-
@northernnarwhal Yeah, but those don't break backwards compatibility
-
@cinnamonswirl Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

@cinnamonswirl Are they actually going to be making "new 3DS" game cards that are separate from regular 3DS game cards? That's retarded. I thought they were just releasing a stronger model with some added features.
-
@northernnarwhal @redenchilada Yeah. The Xenoblade re-release they announced alongside it will only work on a "New 3DS" because it uses that new CPU.
-
@cinnamonswirl Are they going to completely discontinue regular 3DS games? I literally bought mine a little bit less than a year ago.
-
@redenchilada I just googled it and now I'm killing myself
-
@northernnarwhal Well, it doesn't even have a release date outside Japan yet.
-
@cinnamonswirl I hope they just have a certain few games that are exclusive to the new one and still make regular ones too. It's way too early to introduce an entirely new generation of handhelds. I mean as far as the Xenoblade port goes I already have it on Wii so I'm set for that.
-
@cinnamonswirl Hopefully it'll end up like the DSi where the occasional game that needs those features uses it, but the bulk of games are still compatible with the old consoles. I'd rather not need to replace mine before I've even bought ten games for it yet
-
@northernnarwhal I like Xenoblades Theme songs
-
@rainbowdash94 The soundtrack overall was actually pretty good, the battle theme was really catchy
