Wait, what exactly is going on in Canada ? The way ABCnews coins it ( a link I found before @techdisk gave me credible ( ? ) sources ) it seems that almost all of Canada already was on edge one way or another

@critialcloudkicker just a little on edge. I heard that the threat level had been recently raised to moderate or something due to "increased chatter" from extremeist groups. As far as I know, we didn't know this was coming.
-
@critialcloudkicker and yes, those are as credible as they get. I'm watching the CBC on tv right now.
-
@techdisk I needed a subscription for TV at that other one, so I am watching the CBC too
-
@critialcloudkicker its the same stuff as on CTV, in fact I kinda trust CBC more anyway.
-
@techdisk Well, you're not kidding. I am not high and mighty on Canadian politics ( neither on local or national ). But I did do an ISIL ( ISIS ? IS ? ) mockup terrorist reaction mockup. Now I have to ask myself though, if this was an ISIL ( ISIS ? IS ? ) reaction on mostly American bombings. What can they possibly gain ? Although you have to admit. Blatantly killing some people in Canada might get the same media attention as bombing the London Underground and takes a hell of a lot less materials ( which is good news )
-
@techdisk I am not from Canada, I do not even know if you guys have a language selector on Cartoon Network, or 2 different channels entirely ( because French )
-
@critialcloudkicker well, it might have to do with the fact we just took a much more direct reaction against that situation with some of our bombers sent off to help.
-
@critialcloudkicker If it was a single guy shooting some poeple, I doubt any big terrorist organization is involved. It's the sort of thing a nutjob does.
-
@critialcloudkicker but I, personally, think it was just this one guy or group who decided to go and shoot up the parliment, an not a directed ISIS group effort.
-
@techdisk That does not matter much. The number 1 question you have to ask yourself is what motivates a terrorist. ( usually ) the answer to that question is "To sow terror and create as much media attention as possible towards their message". What if you do not have either the time or the hardware or the resources to plan a big "heist" for the lack of a better word. Grab an innocent, and threaten them. Whether a country or an individual does not matter, as long as the media attention is good. However. you can not control the media nor how they will spin it. There is a good possibility that if it gets to America ( not sure if it will even ) they might spin it towards "gun control". Totally cherriesing off ISIL ( ISIS ? IS ? ) along the route
-
@critialcloudkicker well CNN already is talking about it.
-
@techdisk Again, from the eyes of a terrorist it might not matter. As long as there is media attention. Also, you can easily send 2 guys ( ? ) with 2 guns on a random rampage while spraypainting their slogan all over the place, and do it a couple of times over. You can only bomb subway stations a few times before police and secret forces catch on ( till we all have to ride the subway nekkid )
-
@techdisk Heh, I trust CNN about as much as I trust my lego's not to cause pain to my feet.
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@techdisk Be wary, their is some fear mongering that can spurt from this.
-
@critialcloudkicker Well they are already reporting that maybe the Americans should be watching our border rather than the mexican border. so yeah, i'm kinda offended.
-
@techdisk I would not be, However I would retalliate by logging the fingerprints of every American who wants in ( sort of like Brazil does/did)
-
@techdisk Ugh, just, just don't use CNN. Wait for more info to come out to do some reporting that is in depth.
-
@potatao Watch some good ol Canadian news channels.
-
@techdisk I heard there are a lot of reruns.
