  1. The problem is that these things are surprises to pretty much any innocent who's involved.

    1. @hawloween IMO the solution is to have everyone properly trained and equipped. In that situation whoever starts a shooting will be shot dead in a matter of seconds.

      1. @righteousnarwhal Maybe if they're trained and can keep a cool head in dole like that. Most people cannot.

        1. @hawloween Pretty much. If there's something I hate about regular people is how they're unable to stay cool. In an average crisis situation I'd probably kill more people to stop them from doing something stupid that could potentially harm me during their panic than the source of the crisis itself.

          1. @righteousnarwhal And here is why you might not be allowed to own a gun and carry in public places.

            1. @hawloween I don't mean gun-driven crisis situations. I mean crap like natural disasters.

              1. @righteousnarwhal Well to be honest I'd find my own nest and stay there in that sort of situation.

                1. @hawloween I've seen people stampede and move around wildly in bus crashes and stuff like that more than once, and honestly panic causes more injuries that the happening itself. Hell, even in higschool I had to deal with stampedes, and I found the best way to stay in one piece is to keep a cool head and open a path through the mindless mass towards a safe spot, takin advantage of the general chaos.
