So apparently it is now illegal to advertise something in a YouTube video unless you inform your audience beforehand that you've been paid to advertise something.

@nerthos It's like if you put a product placement in a video and then get told by the government that you just broke a law because you didn't put in bold letters "SOMEBODY IS PAYING ME". It's nonsense.

@mrmattimation Considering how many kids watch the stuff and how they idolize youtube personalities, I don't see it as being a bad thing at all.

@ceruleanspark I'm just now seeing cases popping up because of the Oreo Lick Race thing that was going around a few months ago. Apparently people were endorsed to do that and the fact that they were paid wasn't made clear enough so people complained to the ASA.
