@vt3c Haha good luck trying to get my mom to use Linux

I think it is a cool project but I also think you are better with a raspberry pi and an emulator. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/507669971/hdmyboy-a-full-hd-power-up-for-your-game-boy-class

@broniebrown Adafruit even actually has a tutorial and STL files to build and enclose a Pi in a gameboy case. They even detail how to ruin a NES controller for that authentic godawful D-Pad feel.
-
@broniebrown Or if you're not into 3D printing just follow my example: http://i.imgur.com/SeqcV4k.jpg

@ceruleanspark I think such modifications are a little sin to the system, unless the console is unrepairably broken. I like the NES d-pad. It is precise and does hurt less than using the d-pad of a Microsoft SideWinder Freestyle Pro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Microsoft-SideWinder-Freestyle-Pro-Gamepad.jpg I own that piece of apples. It's truly god awful.
-
@broniebrown The classic controller pro is a super great d-pad- you have to buy a converter for it but so far it's been my favorite.
-
@soren The Wii Classic Controller Pro is indeed a good controller. Alternatively I can use a Wiimote and connect it via bluetooth with the pro controller. I'll add the USB adaptor to my wish list. I need one for gamecube and mega drive controllers and for XBox 360 wireless controllers then I have an adaptor for every console controller I own.
-
@broniebrown I don't like the sticks on it but its dpad is super great. I just have one of those, Wiimote+nunchuck, PS3, and Xbox 360. I like them all for different things.
-
@soren The sticks aren't that bad. I think they are better than the ones on the Playstation controllers.
-
@broniebrown I just don't like the hexagon shapes.
-
@soren It's exactly why I like this controller, because of the octagon hole in which the analog stick is put in. Using the analog stick for "digital" movement makes it so much easier and precise.
-
@ceruleanspark The hell is that thing
-
@redenchilada A raspberry pi with a touchscreen I installed, running Debian, in a case made of lego.
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@vt3c A computer for ants?!
