    1. @thelastgherkin I've never even heard of this film before.

      1. @northernnarwhal This 3:24 excerpt is the only good part of it.

      2. @northernnarwhal That, and it granted my childhood an action figure of Joey Tribbiani. http://pny.lv/d5m2

        1. @thelastgherkin It's hard to think of Matt LeBlanc as anything other than that character

          1. @northernnarwhal Well Joey was an actor, so the film is improved vastly if we imagine it's Joey playing Major West.

            1. @thelastgherkin What's the film even about?

Tuesday, 10-Mar-15 21:40:57 UTC from web
              1. @northernnarwhal Facetious answer: it's about some guys and they get lost in space. Actual answer: terrorists try to destroy peace, so this family space mission hyperdrives through the Sun and ends up in a postapocalyptic future where everything is spiders. Also the climax hinges on a time paradox that remains unresolved and thus impossible.

                1. @thelastgherkin I imagine that even if I went and watched the actual film I'd be just as confused as I am reading that explanation.

                  1. @northernnarwhal It's so stupid. The opening narration is like "in the future, it is peaceful. Also, there are terrorists." William Hurt is bored the entire time, Gary Oldman is obviously evil, they introduce a cute CGI alien that serves the plot in no way, the time travel part seems to come out of nowhere, and Joey's character is super rapey.

                    1. @thelastgherkin How did they get so many talented actors on board for something so obviously terrible?

                  2. @northernnarwhal The issue is that it isn't one of those movies that's confusing and hard to follow because the plot is really in depth and complicated, it's the type of movie that is confusing because it makes no sense and the script was probably written in about twenty minutes.

                    1. @zazie Well yeah, I got that. That's what I meant. I'm trying to wrap my head around how someone could actually come up with something like that and have other people all approve it and agree its a coherent and sound piece of work.
