  1. My friend was in the hospital a while ago and had to have surgery and the surgery saved his life. When he talked to the surgeon, he asked my the surgeon decided to be a surgeon, and he said it was because he watched Scrubs.

    2. @zazie I took a chemistry class last year because of Breaking Bad, and I ended up doing really well in the course but decided not to pursue chemistry because it's a lot of hard work and lab reports are really tedious to write

      1. @northernnarwhal It's really more like, a TV show or something you really like sparks an interest in something that develops into a career. Like, you don't become a surgeon because you like Scrubs, or a chemist because you like Breaking Bad, you become a surgeon/chemist because Scrubs/Breaking Bad instigates an interest in medicine/chemistry that eventually evolves into a full time passion

        1. @zazie Yeah, what I meant was the show itself sort of planted an interest in my head. I mean I don't think Mushi is going to become a Japanese linguist or teacher but is learning the language on the side of his main ambitions because of his passion for the culture. I never really planned on becoming a chemist but I probably would've never taken that course were it not for Breaking Bad, which turned me onto the idea of chemistry in the first place. Even though the interested didn't fester or develop, the spark was definitely there.
