    1. @mushi Eh, it could be worse, they could have stuck with cuneiform all these millenia..

      1. @awl "cuneiform"?

        1. @mushi http://rainbowdash.net/url/825210 It's so weird compared to other methods of writing.

          1. @awl oh yeah, their writing is made to be done with brushes, and sometimes it doesnt go well with pens and pencils

            1. @mushi Same could be said of cuneiform, but in lieu of brushes it's chisels. Really no ancient writing systeme is a good one to use with modern media.

              1. @awl I would probably be scared if i my first writing system involved writing stuff like 優 and 議

                1. @mushi I'd batcave my pants

                2. @mushi Stuff that. I'd probably not learn to read in its stead or go to a country where they managed to modernise themselves in writing.

                3. @mushi I remember when I was 3 and was trying to get the A right.

                  1. @nerthos i remember when i was learning to write i couldnt write p if it were between 2 letters

                    1. @mushi I've used uppercase printing letters for my handwriting all my life so I never had issues with positioning.

                      1. @nerthos i never liked the printing letters because it made me more sense to only separate the words to show that they were over

Thursday, 23-Jul-15 03:22:53 UTC from web
                        1. @mushi I didn't read anything written in cursive until I was already at school I think, so I just picked the letters I was used to see.

                          1. @nerthos yeah, the books were all in printing letter, but the difference between the spacing between letters and words was easier to notice than it was when i was writing

Thursday, 23-Jul-15 03:28:59 UTC from web
                            1. @mushi I solved that by using fairly big spaces between words

                              1. @nerthos well, that makes sense. hand writing has never been a skill of mine, people have acomplained that my handwriting is ugly since i ever

                                1. @mushi Mine is bad too, thankfully I rarely use it. I have five types of handwriting though. Allcaps fast, allcaps careful, lowercase, cursive, and technical.

                                  1. @nerthos i only have the regular one (ugly) and the whatever-lets-just-write-it-already one, that needs to be decrypted

Thursday, 23-Jul-15 03:35:47 UTC from web
                                    1. @mushi My fast writing is both small and messy, but the other ones are easy to understand. Specially the technical one, as that's a standarized "font"
