      @awl Tails is just cooler. He's a kid genius with a wicked arm cannon and more bombs than I could count, plus Sonic's famous spindash attack was canonically invented by Tails.

        @northernnarwhal I remember playing as him in one of the earliest games (a friend had a Genesis), and I instantly liked him.

              @scribus Well, I think it is! It's certainly got my favourite level design and gameplay in the series, plus its soundtrack is pretty kickin' too.

              @awl I've played some of the more recent ones... and to be totally blunt I really can't stand most of them. Generations is pretty good (well, at least some elements of it, it's still a pretty haphazardly constructed game) but aside from that I can't say I've had much enjoyment at all.

                @northernnarwhal They always struck me as that really. Generations seems just tedious as all get out, any game where collecting things is essential to finish it is just dumb.

                  @awl Maybe I've given Generations too much credit because most of my enjoyment was facilitated through its throwback sections of gameplay. I think the saddest part about that is it demonstrates that somewhere deep within the core of Team Sonic exists the capability to make competent gameplay, yet it's been consistently subverted in favour of bad idea after bad idea.
