Funnily enough, over here 2016 is expected to be the year when the economy gets back on track after the government change

@nerthos Isn't that what they all say?
-
@shantae I have no idea what's said over there.
-
@nerthos "EVERYTHANG GONNA BE FIXED WHEN X BECAMES THE NEW PRESIDENT AND FIXES EVERYTHANG"
-
@nerthos I just hope that the American collapse doesn't apple things up the world over tbh. Look at how China's bubble popping is rocking the world
-
@shantae Oh. Here it's not so much about thinking some new president will be a heavensent savior, just that the current one did such an abysmal job of it that anything is better.
-
@rarity Well, it'll likely affect the world market a bit, but to be honest a weak dollar won't be too bad for me. Makes things more affordable.
-
@rarity That's what happens when everyone puts their eggs in one basket.
-
@awlelwa SMALL SELF GOVERNING COMMUNITIES OR BUST
-
@awlelwa And the basket's name was "Capitalism"
MetalTao likes this. -
@northernnarwhal Well I was thinking cheap labour but it's kind of a side effect.
-
@awlelwa Pretty much. The equation of money and evil isn't simply pointing out the err of human greed but also acknowledging the long term systemic issues of an inherently unbalanced concept.
-
@northernnarwhal But think of the potential you have to rise from rags to riches! You know, if you're ok with doing illegal things in order to get there or base it on luck
-
@awlelwa But what about the potential for the human race as a whole to stop the in-fighting and ascend to the full glory of its collective ability!?
-
@awlelwa And that's just it, you have a system that propagates and glorifies the ideology of "rags to riches" to the every-man as a sort of idyllic end game to justify said illegal things in an attempt to sell the idea of some sort of Machiavellian utopia to everyone willing to buy into it. Because the idea that anyone can hypothetically make it on some equal economic playing ground gives those born into an inherently greater privileged life a reason to have a smug sense of self satisfaction with themselves and condemn those who have had a systematic disadvantage their entire lives.
-
@northernnarwhal Both this and the ideology of rags to riches is what made it an easy sell, to the higher and the lower classes respectively.
-
@awlelwa And that's part of why the wage gap's only getting bigger
-
-
@northernnarwhal let if flow through you
-
@northernnarwhal That's more complacency. The world needs another huge-scale revolution.
-
@rarity it's beautiful
-
Namely I say that because it might kill the noisiest more annoying people and gives me a better excuse to raise a militia than 'why not lol'
-
@awlelwa Guess I'm not alone in wanting a militia
-
@nerthos It's practically in my blood to be an insane warlord
-
@northernnarwhal Nah, this Maycan flies the golden banner.
-
@awlelwa NOT IN PUBLIC
-
@awlelwa Well, it's a better objective than the usual "marry, have kids, and die after a completely unremarkable life"
-
@northernnarwhal E X P A N D M A Y D O N G
-
@nerthos "you beat cancer and went BACK to the carpet store?"
-
@rarity Oh I just watched that episode of R&M
