Watching Narcos is interesting because apparently they use all the same insults in Spanish as they do here

@tiffany Where does the show take place?
-
@nerthos Colombia, it's a show about Escobar
-
@tiffany Oh, yeah, in Colombia they tend to use the language in a weird way, so they do use insults like in English. They also have this fun thing where they call the people of one of the cities "suits" beause they go to work wearing them, while in other cities it's impossible due to temperature.
-
@nerthos it's quite a crazy place by the looks of things
-
@tiffany It is, though I'm not up to speed on what happens there. Used to have a Colombian friend but we haven't really talked in years.
-
@tiffany shoutouts to the sewer people of Columbia
-
@rarity holla back
-
@nerthos To be fair my only point of reference is a show set in the 80s
-
@tiffany It's different now, though that's the cause. Back when I talked with this guy, cities actually were divided in districts and from the countryside and the army patrolled, to make sure there weren't terrorists or narcos around.
