    1. @critialcloudkicker You know a stalled escalator is just stairs, right?

      1. @thelastgherkin ... How do you call the metal box that moves vertically ? I mean, until it stops moving vertically. And you generally have a bunch of upset people

        1. @critialcloudkicker Oh! That's a lift or an elevator. That makes more sense to be stuck in.

          1. @thelastgherkin I thought "a lift" was the English word for it, I do not think Americans use it all that much. Like the word "fortnight".

            1. @critialcloudkicker So what happened?

              1. @thelastgherkin I work at an assisted living building for people with autism ( translation makes this seem a bit more awkward than it is, probably ) and I see this one guy I've been meaning to talk to about his new job, so I start to do just that. When he takes the elevator I jump in too. Halfway down the power goes out. So both this guy and a random lady freak out as the lights go out. So I am fiddling to find the emergency button, and eventually find it, however not before being accused of groping someones bottom. ... The whole ordeal was quite upsetting, in the end I learned a LOT about elevator safety regulations, that guy's new job, and how some people still think that autism is something you can get by licking someone's toilet... I do NOT recommend it on so many levels... Mostly because it is boring

                1. @critialcloudkicker sounds like a horrible experience

                  1. @eyepie I'd rate it a 3 on the horrible scale ( it goes to 10 )... It would have been a HECK of a lot worse if that lady would have slapped me out of surprise/anger... But I guess I could have put a checkmark on my bucketlist next to "get slapped by a black lady"

                  1. @thelastgherkin I think I would rather lick someones toilet to prove a point

                    1. @critialcloudkicker If you have to lick a toilet to prove your point then chances are you've lost the arguemtn already.

                      1. @eyepie I meant, if I had to choose between A: Getting stuck in an elevator. or B: Lick a toilet to prove that it does not cause autism... I would probably pick B
