@mushi My recommendation for The Revenant is really circumstantial. I'd say it's worth your time if you're a patient viewer who likes really heavily atmospheric films with a strong sense of place (and is okay with some pretty visceral violence). Other than that, I'd say my recommendation is more of a maybe. It's a film with a very distinct set of priorities and that has already turned lots of people off from it, so it may not likely be your thing.

@northernnarwhal actually, i sort of only wanted to go to the movies alone again and that movies looked nice-ish, but i dont think it would be worth what it costs
-
@mushi If you're okay with some occasionally intense viscera then The Revenant, from a strictly visual standpoint, is one of the most gorgeously shot films I've seen in years. The cinematography is stunning and has a gorgeous sense of scenic colour balance, all with natural light too!

@northernnarwhal i like viscera
-
@mushi Do you like more meditative and atmospheric films? Where it's more so the tone and environment that drive the narrative?
-
@northernnarwhal hm, actually i dont have much of a favorite kind of movie, i just preffer it to not be american propaganda war and romance
-
@mushi It's definitely not a war or romance movie, as far as genres go it's basically a survival story.
-
@northernnarwhal well, it can be nice if they do it right
-
@mushi I had some reservations about it but ultimately thought it was definitely worth watching
