@northernnarwhal Hi Mod I'm Ned welcome to the Flanders
-
@awl Well gosh Toto, I don't think we're on Quitter anymore!
-
@northernnarwhal My name's Toto and I love to get blotto
-
@awl It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you, there's nothing that a hundred mods or more could ever do
-
@northernnarwhal I felt the Wrays down in Africa, gonna take some time to make the puns I never had
Narwhal likes this. -
@awl It's clearly time to start a band
-
@northernnarwhal Friends have told me I'm like a more macabre Weird Al so maybe. Mira has to sing though.
-
@awl Hypothetically I imagine I'd be the drummer, though I could also handle other parts and production duties. And yes, definitely Mira on vocals.
-
@northernnarwhal Truth be told when it comes to music I really have no place, unless you count parodying and even then not so much. I would like to write songs in my language though.
-
@awl Well I mean, having hardly any knowledge of music doesn't mean you have no place, you can still enjoy it and participate in it as a cultural object. Besides, who doesn't love to crudely sing along to their favourite songs and make up lyrics?
-
@northernnarwhal Well yeah, it's said that the first poems were in song to make it easy to memorise, and those helped spread language and culture long before written word. I meant simply I am not musically inclined outside of enjoying it.
-
@awl I understand that, and hey, your appreciation game is pretty on point!
-
@northernnarwhal Pretty much goes for all things culture, which is pretty much all things period.
-
@awl Yup, it never hurts to be culturally savvy. I try my best to keep my tastes open, though I'm well aware of my specific preferences too.
-
@northernnarwhal I genuinely enjoy the weird musics that act as window to like, ancient ritualism or ways of life that survived for ages upon ages. Really got me into anthropology in the first place.
-
@awl Yeah, music is one of humanity's longest known artforms and its lineage will lead you on an absolute rabbit hole if you let it. It's always been really attached to culture and society, so a lot of history is spoken and chronicled through music in its own way (lyrically and musically!)
-
@awl bad
