@nerthos Federation issues? I'm seeing your posts fine and Gamera is on my server originally.
-
@maiyannah Yeah, I can see it just fine, I just have absolutely no idea how to repeat an old post from someone I don't follow.

@nerthos Ahh, interface doesn't make stuff like that easy sometimes, or at least qvitter's doesn't, not sure about RDN's
-
@maiyannah Well I've been using RDN for almost 5 years and haven't yet figured out if it's even possible, so yeah.

@nerthos Well you can on AndStatus or via the API, but the qvitter interface at least doesn't present a good way to do so.
-
@maiyannah How? it might work here too

@nerthos The problem is that usually GNU social displays remote versions of posts, as long as you are looking at the local copy, repost/fav should work fine.
-
@maiyannah That only works if there IS a local copy, which requires being subscribed

@nerthos Any notice that hits your own server via any means, even a third party you do follow favouriting or retweeting it, will have a local copy.
But you're not wrong no, so if for instance you see a conversation that REPLIES to a notice and that's the only interaction, you can't repost the OP. This is why I've been meaning to find a way to import the original context post locally in my GNU social fork.-
@maiyannah The posts I wanted to repeat are replies to federated accounts, and only part of the conversation tree is saved over here, so there's no copy here.

@nerthos Yeah it's annoying that conversations get "fragmented" like that, for lack of a better word to describe it.

@maiyannah And even then finding the local copy of an old federated post is really hard
