It's weird how smartphones were the most promising mobile game platform in human history, and with the current hardware and market penetration could have completely and irreparably put mobile consoles out of bussiness, yet instead a complete disregard for quality and obsession with raking in money at any cost have made the platform be universally considered the crappiest option for gaming in the market.

>no skill floor or ceiling
>no real endgame
>no story or progression
>mechanics do not develop
every game has a few of these aspects, and every game has a loop. if it's a game, tell me the loop in pokemon go. i'll even give you some examples of game loops
in 2D metroid, its loop is:
explore > upgrade > explore > boss fight
in dragon quest, it's:
find city > buy items > go through dungeon > fight boss > get quest item
in modern fps, it's:
shoot everything that moves > walk down corridor > watch cutscene/scripted event
in resident evil 4, it's:
shoot everything that moves > collect dropped items > solve puzzle > fight boss > sell papaya and upgrade
in monster hunter, it's:
do new quest > do quest again > do quest again > upgrade armor
in real pokemon, it's:
catch new pokemon in grass > fight trainers > heal > visit city > solve puzzle/event > do gym
