What's the general consensus on how many episodes of Steven Universe you have to sit through before it becomes entertaining? 40?

@mrmattimation Do you ever reply to anything?
-
@takeFrankerZakenji I don't check my replies tab very often so if I missed anything you said to me it's not 'cause I'm ignoring you or anything, i just didn't see it
-
@takemangoakenji @mrmattimation RDN's styling makes it very easy to miss notifications.
-
@maiyannah @mrmattimation Just like the 'classic' interface.
-
@takeFluffle Puffakenji I've been using the classic layout for some time because it was more visually appealing to me, but I guess now that the rest of StatusNet can see us I might as well switch to the new layour.
-
@mrmattimation Someone may end up adding better notification stuff to classic…someday.
-
@mrmattimation If you see it as candy-colored visual background noise it's not bad. It's similar to Adventure Time that the world building is very vague and it creates an attachment to the series slowly over time. The first season is rather boring but it has some very fun episodes like "Tiger Millionaire" and "Steven and the Stevens". Many would consider to say that they got hooked at episode 25 "Mirror Gem" because that episode raised the stakes to the overall lore of that show.
-
@adiwan Yeah if it takes a very large portion of the viewerbase 25 episodes to get into a show that might just be a bad show.
-
@takeFrankerZakenji We used to have a really nice notification system but it started messing with the site and we haven't fixed it yet.
-
@mrmattimation The first episodes weren't bad in my opinion. They just rather tend into the boring spectrum and Steven wasn't that fleshed out and appeared to be a bit annoying. I watched them as background noise when there weren't any other interesting shows around. I'm not the hugest fan of the show but I still follow it.
-
@mrmattimation @adiwan I've liked it since the first episodes, but I guess I have a very different sense of humor/taste than you guys
-
@nerthos That's fine. The Amazing World of Gumball and Star Vs The Forces of Evil are infinitely more fun to watch. Steven Universe discusses more emotional conflict than situational conflict and I fully respect that. It offers something different and different is good.
-
@adiwan I mostly like the silly sense of humor it has, even if I also enjoy the serious episodes. I'm more into it for stuff like cat fingers or peridot's soap opera obsession.
-
@nerthos I don't like these two elements but Peridot is a comedy gold mine.
-
@adiwan In general I love the stupid, innocent humor the show has. I'm really sick of gross humor by now so it's refreshing.
