Do you not have egg cups in America?

@thelastgherkin How do they even eat hot soft-boiled eggs? Wait until they are cool? Then they aren't tasty anymore.
-
@adiwan I'm imagining someone holding an egg and eating the whole thing, including the shell.

@thelastgherkin Haha. I just researched that phenomenon and I found a thread where people were discussing that too. The conclusion is that Americans usually don't eat soft-boiled eggs or fried eggs with the yellow egg yolk up. As far as I can see they don't like them or consider them uncooked and not edible (maybe fear of salmonella). Only people of European descent ate soft-boiled eggs but stopped after a while.

@adiwan Americans will never experience the joy of eggy soldiers
-
@adiwan Only in the north. In south america european cooking is popular. I can't stand fried eggs with dry yolk for example.
-
@nerthos Have you ever had eggy soldiers?
-
@thelastgherkin Not in that shape (the egg in an egg holder to dip the bread in) but I eat eggs in pretty much the same way just on a plate. Bread dipped in the semi-liquid egg.
