@rw I was always curious why he, when kept from going on more missions by worst president Kennedy, he didn't use his hero image to talk against Kennedy and force him to apologize and let him go or commit political suicide.

@rw If I worked so hard as anyone aiming to become an astronaut did, became a national hero in my first mission, and looked forward to more only to be stopped by some idiotic adulterous politician that wanted to use me as propaganda while killing my career, I'd go to the media and give long speeches about it and about how the president only cares about image, not giving a crap for the work and careers of people and the potential of the country in the space race. He'd be forced to go out and publically apologize or everyone who considered me a hero and everyone who cared about the space career would hate him otherwise.
