@awl Maybe in the sense of a game trail today.
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad used to have a branch line out this way (you can see the remnants of a rail in the foreground), so this was originally cleared out to some degree. There were trees growing up between the rails around here!
I was lost in the woods for an hour or so, because I didn't want to turn back the way I came. At least it didn't rain.-
@takePotato Knishesakenji Oh yeah. Had that happen before. It's either turning back and backtracking, second-guessing every move you make for likely the remainder of the day, or just say 'Potato Knishes it' and make your own. I got lost on game trails before during hikes. Thank gods for compasses.

@awl I had a GPS (with its own compass) so I knew where I was in relation to things, but that doesn't mean that there aren't thickets of invasive blackberry bushes everywhere.
