  1. "Doctor Endless. We understand this is the new DC Universe’s first genderfluid character — and a familiar-looking one, too. Doctor Endless pulls their look and powers from the Sandman’s Endless characters, as created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg.

The character will appear in Suicide Squad: The Black Files # out in August — one of a number of new characters in a story written by Jai Nitz and drawn by Scot Eaton."

    What the ever living mango.

So...hang on, you're heavily basing a character on aspects from Sandman, which...has never ever went well in the first place in comics history, Sandman should clearly be left alone, that's been proven, and...putting it in -Suicide Squad-

    1. Also it says "new DC Universe's first"

Desire, I remember (tho the article does also mention this) switched a bit in Sandman itself. So...is that just considered, not at all part of the universe now or. I mean, Sandman was always standalone, but it was still part of the 'DC universe' for all intents and purposes as such. So what's the difference between that and 'new' DC Universe.

      1. Just to address it as well, I've nothing against the character being genderfluid, unless it really tries to push political things, specifically to the point of making the actual story worse (cos frankly I think mixing in current politics can turn out interesting, the issue is that it's rarely done well or subtly enough)

        On that note.

Quote from the article: "We’re told that DC Comics intends this to be a strong book for retailers to sell to both Sandman fans and those with an interest in LGBTQ matters. And here is a sketch of the character." (Where does, Sandman fans, and, fans of the Suicide Squad comics series, overlap)

Then this is a sketch of the character https://community.highlandarrow.com/attachment/206559

        2. @katiekats Looks like its trying to knock of the Wicked and the Divine, which wasn't that great to begin with.

    2. @katiekats Another in a long line of "we can't think of anything original for our obvious pandering characters, so we'll just rip off something existing."

      Mainstream entertainment media is cancer.
