Now that I think about it, bidets are being phased out over here. 20 years ago almost all houses had one but now it's rare in newly built ones.

@delores Well I'll agree that dumping toilet paper down the toilet is stupid, that's what trash cans are for. Still, toilet paper does work, as it's much more porous than skin so waste sticks to it, and most people will only wipe once or twice between showers anyway.
