I'll say this, I'm willing to adopt the Metric system if everyone uses Fahrenheit, not a Celsius system based around water.

@starlynx4 Fahrenheit is the worst thing

@starlynx4 too bad. Celcius makes more sense.

@techdisk42 @mushi I mean, it's crazy that imperial is based on arm length and stuff, but a scale based on water(Celsius) and a scale based on absolute zero(Kelvin) are also dumb. Fahrenheit is just better. Freezing and boiling points shouldn't be the base of our temperature scale.
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 17:58:40 UTC from web-
@starlynx4 Why shouldn't they be? Also, what is Fahrenheit based on, if I may ask? Nobody ever told me that...

@omni Fahrenheit is based on weather, idiot. DON'T YOU KNOW ANYTHING
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 18:00:20 UTC from web-
@derps Can we keep the insulting for some time later, when I feel better? Thank you.
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 18:01:02 UTC from web-
@omni Have you ever heard of jokes or sarcasm or anything humorous at all.

@derps >Implying everything is fine if you call it a joke

@omni No, that's not what I said at all.

@omni I'm just trying to compromise, here. I'm willing to take Metric, because it's easier and better. However, we don't use anything above 40 degrees Celsius or so on a daily basis. It's also kind of dumb to have to say, often, that it's a negative degrees temperature.

@starlynx4 I guess the "it's dumb that you will often have something of a negative temperature" is a fair reason.

@mushi No, if we move to Kelvin, we're basing a scale on an almost unreachable temperature.
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 18:07:56 UTC from web-
@starlynx4 kelvin is science only. its not viable as a normal temprature system.
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 18:08:25 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Exactly, it's practical for really low temperatures. Other than that, eh.

@starlynx4 but sciene uses water as a reference to everithing, temperature shouldnt be an exception
Sunday, 16-Sep-12 18:03:38 UTC from web-
@mushi However, as much as science is an important field, everyday people use don't find Celsius very practical. I'm talking about the average person, not the man actually trying to use temperature for something other than weather, etc.
