   me: these cartoons take place in the "real world", whenever they were made, so the pandemic is obviously happening here, i've even written a reference to it in this script
   also me: *draws absolutely nobody wearing a mask because that makes for incredibly boring animation*
   
   the answer? these cartoons take place during the pandemic, but in a population of people that's 100% vaccinated and so it might as well not even exist
