I've tried Flash MX, 8, CS3, CS4, CS5, and CS6. 8 and CS3 are the only ones I don't hate.

@zeldatra I like CS5.5. (Disclaimer: I have only used CS5.5)
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:21:21 UTC from web-
@redenchilada CS5.5 is better than CS5, but only because it crashes a little bit less.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:22:21 UTC from web-
@zeldatra I like the autosave that seems to have been introduced in CS5.5.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:22:56 UTC from web-
@redenchilada I've never seen that autosave work.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:24:16 UTC from web-
@neurario It works for me. Often when I don't want it to, too! :c

@redenchilada I use a plugin that adds autosave to older versions.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:25:52 UTC from web-
@zeldatra Flash has plugins?
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:26:11 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Yeah, what'd you think Adobe Extension Manager is for?
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:28:42 UTC from web-
@zeldatra I dunno!
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:29:16 UTC from web-
@redenchilada They're really useful. Pixel Tools, AS2 IK, vCam, etc
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:31:23 UTC from web-
@zeldatra I should use some plugins with my flash. Maybe it will make my things suck less. (Even though I mostly use Flash for static drawings at this point :x)
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:32:07 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Can't help you there. The ones I use, save for AutoSave, are animation tools.

@redenchilada Autosave has been an option since CS2 or 3, I believe it just because default in 5.5. It is extremely unreliable either way.

@pinebro Oh.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:26:25 UTC from web -
@pinebro Its not in CS2, CS2 corresponds to Flash 8 and I had to get a plugin for that.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:27:35 UTC from web-
@zeldatra what are plugins even good for? Flash has everything you need in it already.
-
@pinebro I use them for convenience. I have a slider for graphic scrubbing which really helps with lipsync, and a few pixel tools.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:57:46 UTC from web-
@zeldatra what do you mean"slider for graphic scrubbing" and "pixel tools"? Onion skinning works fine for lip syncing.
-
@abigpony Say I have multiple frames in a graphic. I can use said scrubber to switch between these frames in the main timeline without having to enter the properties panel and inputting numbers. I keep all of my mouths in one file, and use the slider to scroll between each one. As for pixel tools, it makes.... Pixels... I don't use it all that often, it's meant for sprite animation.

@zeldatra I still don't understand that, but that Pixel animator thing seems really cool actually.

@techdisk First I went to Adobes website, then I clicked "free trial".
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:23:09 UTC from web-
@zeldatra oh. barnicles.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:23:25 UTC from web-
@techdisk Though you're not far off: I borrowed Flash 8's serial key from a friend.
Tuesday, 09-Oct-12 02:24:09 UTC from web-
@zeldatra hah, gotcha there
