Meme is probably the word people on the internet use most frequently without having a clue what it means. (Or in a lot of cases, how to pronounce it)

@ceruleanspark Haven't these people played MGS2??
Wednesday, 17-Oct-12 12:58:45 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Most people treat the ending of MGS2 as though it was completely incomprehensible, despite the fact that it A) made total sense and b) was quite good.
-
@ceruleanspark When I played it the first time, the part about the ending that made the least sense to me was "now we're on Federal Hall somehow!"

@thelastgherkin I literally only visited Federal Hall because of that game.
-
@ceruleanspark Why was it even set on Federal Hall? The whole symbolism of George Sears no longer being president any more? It was just jarring to me because up until that point, MGS had been about secret bases and complexes and suddenly it was in a real life location. It would have made more sense to have the final fight on the top of Arsenal; that would have carried over the whole memeticness of repeating MGS.

@thelastgherkin "That's right. George Washington took office as the first president of the United States of America 200 years ago today. And it happened right here. We were going to declare another independence -- the dawn of a new nation - here. The end of the Patriots' secret rule, liberation of this country -- this was where it was supposed to begin, this is where freedom could have been born."

@thelastgherkin As a bonus this explanation starts with the phrase that has been repeating throughout the whole game "Jack, do you know what day it is today?"
-
@ceruleanspark Bluh. Give me two shirtless dudes punching it out on top of a giant robot any day.

@thelastgherkin For such a generally unrealistic game, that entire scene really gets across how unpleasant punching an old man to death is.
-
@ceruleanspark Realism in a Metal Gear Solid game? The hell you say!
