Playing older games, I cant help but notice how fast paced cutscenes and cinematics are. My guess is developers cutting down on production costs by getting the important stuff out of the way quickly, no point wasting money having a character leave a long pause for dramatic effect, just get the words out.

@purplephish20 Nah, modern devs just wanna inflate their game lengths. "Our game is seventy hours long thanks to all the long, drawn-out cutscenes we added! Why would you play the competitors' games that are only * scoff * four hours long instead?"
