          @redenchilada Sonic Unleashed was unplayable rubbish. Generations was hit and miss, so was Episode 2. Both versions of Colors started off strong but waned as they progressed, not to mention the writing was awful. None of those are really "good", to me at least.

                @rarity Yes. The daytime half of the game was very fun. I'll admit the Werehog stages ranged from mediocre to terrible, though.

                    @rarity I still had fun with the Werehog. Not as much as the daytime stages, but still a decent bit of fun. The only thing I'd call terrible was Shamar Night Act 1 with the stupid hidden switches to find.

                      @redenchilada The daytime levels are completely based on trial and error with poor design and the nighttime levels are boring and can easily be beaten by just spamming the heavy attack.

                        @northernnarwhal I'd argue the "trial and error" point. The game does require a high degree of concentration, but aside from abusing obscure engine quirks it's impossible to go fast enough that you can't react to stuff as it comes up. (Well, maybe Eggmanland is a little cheap, but that's the final level...)

                          @redenchilada It doesn't require concentration, it requires clairvoyance. Also, the mechanic where you have to collect a certain amount of coins to actually ENTER levels where you PLAY the game is completely illogical.

                            @northernnarwhal The medal collecting was silly, I'll give you that. But the game can definitely be played without needing any sort of memorization. It's challenging, yes, but that's a nice change from other Sonic games being literally cakewalks.

                              @redenchilada Let's just agree to disagree here. I think Sonic Unleashed is a poorly developed, boring, and shallow game that has writing that literally made me want to gouge my eyes out. It's one of the worst games I've had the displeasure of playing, and it is an example of many wrong turns developers can make while creating a game. But that's just my opinion.

                                            @northernnarwhal I ain't saying it's a great game, but it doesn't even compete with 06 on the "bad game" spectrum. I do enjoy it somewhat as a guilty pleasure, but I'd never make someone else play it with me.

                        @coffeecream I can get something like 20-25fps (or whatever close to but not quite full game speed is) at 640x480 but anything more is murder.
