Is there any real validity to the claim that fans ruin the lives of celebrities? I mean, Paparazzi seem like jackwads, but I dunno.

@pony I think they probably do, but in non obvious ways. We take for granted that we can largely say what we want on sites like Twitter or Tumblr, but if we were famous, we'd have someone Potato Knishesing at us for literally anything we did.

@ceruleanspark I suppose that would lead any normal person to feel isolated or stifled except with people they know. Somehow politicians manage not to be bothered too much maybe. I mean with all the negative press I hear about Obama, yeesh! (part of it is just Utah)

@pony It is completely possible not to give a crap about it and still say what you want, but you have to be pretty good at steering attention and conversations.
