@clayinthecarpet a tl;dr of that is: I'm less offended and more like, you've said enough in which anyone can logically conclude you have a bad opinion of me or anyone that writes or even enjoys shipfics. And since you've admitted your position against shipfic is more opinion and less informed, you are essentially judging fans like myself on personal belief.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline You're putting aaaall kinds of words in my mouth, bro. You need to step back and calm down. I don't judge people for enjoying/reading fanfics of any kind. My best friend is a HUGE fan of Fallout: Equestria and I love him all the same, regardless...I respect you for doing what you do and I respect the writer of that story for doing what he did. I don't necessarily agree with the story for what it is, though. I maintain my reservations against certain ideas if for no other reason than I like my FiM canon to be what it's always been, IE: not what the fanfic writers usually create.

@clayinthecarpet like I told nerthos, you have been beating down shipfics with smearing words like perversion and distortion, words which are not normally assumed to be used in a strictly neutral sense, then defending your opinion of what you enjoy with words which imply moral authority or, to use an exact word you've used, pureness. The connotation of words like "perverse" and "distorted" point to an opinion of wrongness, whereas saying something is pure implies correctness or right. I feel like if you were indifferent or wanted to show respect for what I like, you would not use language to wrongfully put it below your position while simultaneously elevating yours. Connotation is key here, because it's through the connotation of your language that you have used to create inequalities in our separate opinions. You've said you're cool with people with different opinions. This is why I feel like you've been saying "we both can have opinions, but mine is right"

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline I may have accidentally presented a bad light upon your chosen fic subject with those words, true...And for making it easy for you to misconstrue my choice wording, I apologize. However, I stand beside what I said and how I said it. I meant it in the most benign way possible, if you can believe that. I didn't want to personally insult you or your creation. Rather, I just feel like what shipfics accomplish is not something I wish to be involved in, personally....It's quite literally a perversion of the show that I simply do not jive with as a general subject. I've said this many times now. I'm not sure how many more times I need to type it out for you. I don't look down on you for doing what you've done, at all. I just feel if personally conflicts with the way I view pony and I've been giving you - for like, the last hour or more - my personal opinion for why I feel that way.
