  1. Thank you, @starshine. Wow. I was just thinking of the MUSH at @scribus's place. See. I grew up in the MUD at the realmsofdespair.com and find @evilscribus's MUSH to be to MUD like Linux is to Windows, like TCL.tk is to Python and Perl and Ruby. #

  2. @starshine I can probably figure out how to make an ISO to burn to CDs and DVDs of the files. Will FFMPEG help me make DVDs that work in regular DVD players?

  5. I want to make a 4.7 gigabyte DVD of these 26 MKV files (the SD (360p?) version of the first season) totaling 3.9 gigabytes. How can I do that with free, open-source software? Is there a straight forward way of adding some videos from Youtube?

  7. @redenchilada You are welcome. I subscribe to too many Youtubers but often get lucky in having nice stuff like that published as I am looking at my inbox. I almost want to flip through the other 30 new uploads in the past 24 hours. Maybe later. This one is hot off of the presses, though.

  15. @leonkfox Windows 7 is fine. For computer programmers, Linux is about 20% cooler. Most people are stuck with upgrading from 95 or 98 to XP or Vista or Windows 7. This is a good thing. There are only 32-bit and 64-bit machines from either AMD or Intel. XP does fine on any of them, but is geared for 32-bit machines. Vista gets lots more power out of the hardware but also created some problems for itself in doing so. Windows 7 is the fixed version of Vista. Some people got used to computing with Microsoft DOS-3.3. When Windows 3.0 came out, many were forced to learn to use it for work, but others would play with it briefly before dropping back into DOS to actually do anything with their PC. Windows 7 works wonderfully in comparison to previous versions. Unfortunately, there are way too many applications to choose from, and the OS also suffers from feature bloat. To get your Windows to be less irritating is only a matter of asking less of it. Start with your firewall and virus protection.

  18. @derpybronylikesrarity Rarity's image is always welcome, especially when artful PMV is on the line. The unclean version is far better. Why did they cut the credits off of the end of it? Why don't they put Ludacris's radio edit which is probably better than the one with that one the explicit word in the chorus? "Move... Get out the way. Get out the way." There is like one scene that is really vulgar, but it is really funny, too. I don't know how I feel about it, but I figured that since the original version comes up first when searching for the title, I would just post the less well known version, leaving the original for the kids to find when the adults are doing their adult things. It is all good. I chopped the http-part off of the beginning, but I am not sure why your link didn't have an image, unless that is the only reason. Without any further ado... 21. @thelastgherkin You cannot troll if you have never become a troll. How does one become a troll but to understand what it is that a troll does? So, to know trolling, you must be a troll? So, you either really, honestly don't want to know what discord is, and you sincerely were wondering about the term as it is to be applied to this abstract art, or you know what discord is, and you are just being a troll.

  22. @philosodash Yeah. I went through the same thing for like 15 excruciating minutes, as I don't usually go anywhere but here and the off topics. Anyway, Equestrian Daily has a nice, short article with a nice picture, which is probably unrelated.

  24. @thelastgherkin The Principia Discordia as a title is a play on the Principia Mathematica by Euler or Newton or whatever. Eris, the goddess of discord vs. the Illuminatus! like Luna and Celestia, respectively. Roughly, the Illuminati are the grand, all-time pyramid-scheme and purveyors of # and the curse of the grey-face. (Where the famous monk, Greyface (sp?) was the one that went around in the slightly darker ages and peeped in people's windows to make sure that they were doing anything unclean.) Eris is our savior. She makes it impossible for the bad guys to ever win, because she is *so* distracting. I would love to repeat some of the 1000 byte or less parts of the principiadiscordia.com, but I promise that I will drop it, until I am nudged otherwise. http://ur1.ca/4yada

  30. @johnatmc That's the problem with adults these days. They are so desperate to try to keep pace with technology and current events that they don't have the patience and attentiveness to sit through less than half of an hour of children's programming.
