  2. I'm proofreading a master thesis for a friend (non-native English speaker) and there are so many little idiosyncratic mistakes. Several times "treats" is written instead of "threats" or "enchanted" instead of "enhanced".

  3. Damn, Sage and Savant dropped a musical act due to a difference of sociopolitical opinion. It's a decision I agree with, but still - it wasn't a thing I imagine anyone actually wanted. Not naming names, but they do share an initialism with Irritable Bowel Syndrome which just amuses the permanent child in me.

  5. I remember shortly after Steve Irwin died, I said something disparaging about how he probably was doing something unnecessarily risky when he died (my family nicknamed him "Stupid Guy") and I got scolded because you're not supposed to speak poorly of the dead because they can't defend themselves. Turns out it wasn't really his fault, he just ran into some bad luck with an animal that shouldn't have been interested in attacking him at all.

      • Bought a rice cooker. Finally well-cooked rice. Just 20 bucks to solve my rice woes. I hate cooking rice in a regular pot because it is hard to get it right there.

      • Manga I recommend: "Komi Can't Communicate". Funny, relatable, wholesome, and contains very few "WTF Japan" moments. Shoko Komi, the protagonist, has crippling social anxiety speaking or expressing herself. https://i.imgur.com/tE0sNBT.png

      • Dammit. My electric shaver is barely functioning. The trimming mechanism is out of whack. I had a hard time getting rid of my 3 week beard. It felt like an epilator. Need to learn how to wet shave.

      • I wish my tablet had a larger bezel. It's uncomfortable to hold it a long time without accidentally making an input on the touch screen. I hate the trend of making screens and also smartphones and tablets shrink the bezel size.

      • After a year I have finally decided where and how to hang my picture frames. https://i.imgur.com/THSpYF3.jpg I put them into my hallway. At first I wanted 5 frames in a row but it'd be too busy. I think 2 rows of 4 look fine.

May time never erode what was built, the chapter of our lives that we spent together.

In perpetuity you will find a brother in me if that is what you desire.

          • @scribus We run a custom campaign setting. Basically our characters went to an undiscovered country, far far away from their own, and settled there. Basically it's a frontier settling next to old civilization ruins (2 days of travel away in a jungle). Basically dragons and dragonborns were the Goa'uld (Stargate) and enslaved other worlds to support their own. The ruins next to our settling were abandoned a long time after a bloody revolt of yet unknown history behind that. This is so far as I know it. Last session we learned that dragons were behind of this and all that stuff.

          • @adiwan Neat! I always preferred custom settings, myself. Keeps the players from reading ahead, lol.
