I used to be able to generate a full 1050 year world in under an hour on a much worse CPU than what I have now. On that same CPU the current version would take at least a day to generate the same amount of history. One big problem with the game's performance remains that it is not threaded at all. I remember hearing something about some work on implementing threaded pathfinding a while back but I don't know how that ended up going."}
