There's a difference between guilt and shame.  people could shame me for doing what i did, but only if I let them.  Guilt was there too when I knew I wasn't doing my best, but it was really the shame that hurt me. It never benefitted me once, unlike guilt which simply let me know I needed to improve.  You're loved, no matter what.  Shame contradicts that and is a lie."}
