I thought I'd throw in my idea anyway.  I was thinking that maybe the current promoted dashes thing could be used exclusively for mod notices (like stickies on a forum).  For what @<span class=\"vcard\"><a href=\"http:\/\/rainbowdash.net\/user\/2959\" class=\"url\" title=\"Kaiba (formerly Ponydude)\"><span class=\"fn nickname\">widget<\/span><\/a><\/span> was saying about promoting community stuff, I have an idea that could let that happen without showing favoritism.  There could be a little area that had links to groups for streams, artwork, anything made by people on the site.  Here is a VERY CRUDE mockup so you can visualize it.
