The fact that people at university are there by choice, and in most cases, are paying a frankly lunatic quantity of money to do so really narrows the field. \n\nI did IT, and everyone was great. I got to know a lot of people, I never felt threatened or bullied or outcast or anything like that. The people studying your course will more than likely share a lot of interests with you, which will help you find common ground (In my case, the releases of Mass Effect 2 and Pokemon Soul Silver\/Heart Gold were the major areas)\n\nYou'll find the relationship between students and staff is a lot different too: The lecturers could not give a dole about anyone who isn't there to learn, so the do not pander to the lowest denominatior. The will <i>\/actually treat you with respect\/<\/i> which was novel for me."}
