I'm not complaining though, I had a happy and privileged upbringing that many will never have. But I guess my parents were just working at that point to afford all the luxuries in life they didn't have growing up, which I can't blame them for, but I guess the point I'm getting to is that I've always been a bit distant from my folks and I'm okay with that now.
