Some subspecies do not even abide by that &quot;rule&quot;. The Dutch garden variety hover-fly happens to  do so. Nature is weird though. I mean you would think that Mud-Daubers would absolutely thrive in our polders and such, but no, they find our ground too clay-ey and can't survive our mildest winter. I am actually kinda thankfull for that."}
