This would not be the first time it's happened either; na'vikin were phenomenally aggravating back when Avatar was still a big thing to people. And though this question sounds general enough to not fall under that header, I think it's presence on this survey is evidence enough they do mean the kind of ponies from the show, as I cannot think of any other reason for it to be asked here.
