What makes it good is the substance, the humor, the characters, and the adventures they share. They could be rubber duckies with a rubber duckie society. And humans can take you away too if you let them. Also, having humans =/= reality. Is Game of Thrones reality? In spite of Twilight having fingers and using them to fing, it still has the escapist qualities we all love in the stories. This is coming from me, the guy who normally LOATHES the mean-girls plot device that EQG uses. But this movie did it extremely well. If the human thing REALLY gets to you, youre no better than the haters who can't give MLP a shot because of ponies in the first place.
