It depends on the tone of the show. I usually kind of like Law and Order (not the spinoff series) because of the strong justice theme and moral questions, but I dislike Cold Case and The Closer because the forensics don't appeal to me enough to override the depressing feeling I get from them. I enjoy Bones because of the humor and relationship stuff and the characters are entertaining. Same with Monk. I tolerate Numbers because of the interesting math stuff, but that usually doesn't hold my interest enough for me to really enjoy it... Before getting married I never watched forensics shows. :P My wife loves them.
