The idea of the portal can open up a lot of grand new ideas as long as other universes arent all turning the ponies into humans and going to highschool anyway... i actually even have my own little idea of a story involving the portal explaining a bit of how equestria came to be and beginings of the princesses and even where some of the major villans came from.
