Walking is still on a grid, but any other mode of transport is free reign, yet the maps are still designed with only the grid system in mind (grumble grumble one-tile-wide pathways that you can barely fit into on skates grumble grumble), but diagonal movement breaks a lot of stuff like ice puzzles. Also the inability to use the 3DS's primary method of movement (circle pad) without it setting you on those damn impossible-to-control skates.</html>
