The weapons, yes, you can find a use for them. The armor? just a waste of money. Believe me, just use Ebony. Half the gold spent on materials, it's far more regal and elegant, and you easily get past the 597 armor threshold if you improve it. After 597, all armor rating is useless, since you hit the 80% damage reduction cap. I can literally tank stuff without a shield. Just two Ebony swords+elemental fury, ring of major healt, and gauntlets and necklace of wielding. Bandit leaders die in two hits, and dragons in &lt;4 seconds as soon as they touch ground.
