@caret7 I imagine if I ever got back into the show it would just be that- me being a fan of the show. That isn't to say I wouldn't enjoy fan works though, as communal culture is very important in the world of art! I'm just awfully apprehensive with the word "brony" and the prospect of "brony culture", I disagree with the notions of categorically identifying with my media. I feel that a term like "brony", aside from being weighted with some less than pleasurable connotations, is also reflective of a philosophy of media engagement that works more on the framework of an identity complex than that of critical evaluation or visceral enjoyment. My message doesn't technically spoil anything that happened in the episode and is more of just my reaction to it, but yeah, you'd be better off reading it after watching the episode.

@northernnarwhal I'm back in the fandom, and I often check EqD for stories and art. One thing that drew me back was the loving attention to characterization in fan creations. Adventure fics, comedy, heck even clopfics can be masterpieces. After that year away, I longed for the wholesome brony culture that nurtured me as a teenager. In the fandom, I learned to draw, animate, make music, and write stories. It was like the Italian Renaissance in a way, and ponies were our Greek gods. And the old saying, What Would A Pony Do? And this culture survives today. I won't read your message until I watch E100, though :)

So I remembered a dream I had last night where I was late for work because I couldn't decide what to wear. I was getting into this short-sleeved floor-length dress, blue with silver trimming, complete with stuffed bra and styled hair and makeup, only to realize the top of the dress was a bit sheer for work and I had to scrap it all and find something else to wear.
