@scriba It is to some extent true- as a product of their environment growing up, their brain processes thoughts differently and it could well be outside of their power to even realize let alone resist. But the thing with medical conditions is they're supposed to be treated and hopefully cured- a phobia (of any kind) is a condition which should be addressed and resolved sooner rather than later. Of course, now we've entered that murky territory where you have to be sure the determination of what's a condition and what is simply a variation is being made based on solid evidence rather than on what somebody's beliefs might be or politics. After all, we wouldn't want someone to turn this same logic around against something that isn't actually a medical condition in need of treatment. Dang real life being too complicated for convenient sound bites ☺
